1. What documents are required to rent a car in Portugal?
To rent a car in Portugal, you need a valid driving license, an identity card or passport, and a credit card in the name of the main driver.
2. Can I rent a car with a foreign driving license?
Yes. To rent a car in Portugal, you can use a foreign driving license, provided it is valid and recognized in Portuguese territory. In some cases, an International Driving Permit may be required, depending on the issuing country of the license. To complete the rental, you will also need to present an identification document (citizen card or passport) and a credit card in the name of the main driver.
3. What is the minimum age to rent a car in Portugal?
The minimum age to rent a car in Portugal is 23 years. However, some vehicle groups may require a higher minimum age. It is possible to rent under the age of 23, but subject to an additional young driver fee.
4. What are the legal requirements in Portugal regarding the use of child seats?
In Portugal, the use of appropriate child seats is mandatory for children under 12 years of age or under 135 cm in height. We provide child seats for rental, but advance booking is required to ensure availability.
5. How does toll payment work in Portugal?
All our rental cars are equipped with Via Verde devices for automatic toll payment. A service fee of €2.20/day will be charged, maximum €22. Tolls will be charged subsequently to your credit card.

6. What is included in the rental price?
The rental price includes basic third-party liability insurance and 24-hour roadside assistance. You can add additional insurance and extras, such as GPS or child seats.
7. Can I return the car in a different city from where I rented it?
Yes, it is possible to return the car at any of our offices, but there is an additional fee for the one-way service. Check the terms when making your reservation.
8. What if I return the car with a different fuel level than the initial level?
If you return the car with less fuel than indicated at the start of the rental, a refueling fee will be charged, which may include additional costs.
9. What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
In case of an accident or breakdown, contact our 24-hour roadside assistance immediately using the number provided in the rental contract. If necessary, a towing and taxi service will be sent to the location.
10. Can I cross borders with the rental car?
Yes, only to Spain, you must inform the rental company in advance and there may be additional costs.
11. Is it possible to add additional drivers to the rental contract?
Yes, you can add additional drivers to the contract, but they must present the same documents required of the main driver and there may be an extra fee per driver.
12. What happens if I return the car late?
If you return the car after the agreed time, an additional late fee may be charged. To avoid additional costs, we recommend informing us as soon as possible if you need to extend the rental.
